Over a year and a half with no news? Not quite. A few of the highlights.
In June I will be speaking at the Scotch on the Rocks web developer conference in Edinburgh. More details.
I'm a software developer, programming in a variety of languages.
I'm a digital artist, creating images from photos and 3D renders.
I'm a proponent of Open Source software development.
I'm happy to go wandering about outside, in all sorts of weather.
Open Source is, at its simplest, the practice of supplying source code (computer instructions) with software (instead of obscuring those instructions).
It ensures the person using the software has the option to look at how things are done, verify that the software is doing what is says it is, extend and improve the software, and so on.
A subset of this is the Free Software movement, focusing not just on the practical benefits of software freedom, but on preserving people's freedom as a whole.
